Biography

Dr. Alicia Paterno is a Teaching Associate Professor within the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry. Her primary role involves instructing general chemistry courses 121 and 122, where she delivers lectures and oversees the coordination of recitations and laboratories. Additionally, she provides mentorship to graduate students as they navigate their teaching assignments in general chemistry. Dr. Paterno is also actively engaged in teaching the introduction to chemistry course.

Beyond her dedication to teaching, Dr. Paterno regularly participates in the Biennial Conference in Chemical Education, absorbing new teaching methodologies and technological advancements. She takes an active role in organizing a symposium focused on enhancing student engagement in large chemistry classes.
