Biography

Amie Walters Kendall brings over 20 years of business and accounting expertise to her role as Director of Business Administration within the School of Science and Engineering at Duquesne University. With a focus on analyzing and reconciling budgets, financial reporting, and providing budget assistance to faculty and departments, she is dedicated to contributing to the growth of the school through hard work, innovation, and a commitment to the university's mission.

In her role, Amie manages the Dean's Office budgets and oversees the budgets of various departments within the school. She advises the Dean on financial decisions, develops strategic plans for school spending, and prepares detailed budget reports on a regular basis. Amie also trains and assists department budget managers, supervises accounting functions, and assists faculty with grants, contracts, and collaborative agreements.

Additionally, Amie manages faculty startup accounts, gift accounts, and scholarship accounts. She collaborates with the Dean to award scholarships, manages department graduate assistant budgets, and oversees faculty promotion and tenure tracking. She also handles various administrative tasks such as approving expense reports, processing new employee paperwork, and managing day-to-day staff and faculty issues. Amie serves as the Program Coordinator for the School of Science and Engineering’s Undergraduate Research Program, further demonstrating her commitment to supporting academic excellence and research initiatives within the university community.
