Biography

Autumn Stewart, PharmD, BCACP, is an Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice in the Pharmacy Practice Department in the Duquesne University School of Pharmacy. After graduating from the School of Pharmacy in 2004, Dr. Stewart completed a Community Practice Residency Program with Duquesne University, Giant Eagle Pharmacy, and Pfizer, Inc. Following this experience, she practiced in a hospice and palliative care setting, providing pain and symptom management consultations for hospices across the country.

In 2008, Dr. Stewart accepted a full-time clinical faculty appointment with the School of Pharmacy. In addition to didactic teaching responsibilities, Dr. Stewart served as the Director of Clinical Pharmacy Services at Catholic Charities Free Health Care Center until 2016 when she developed a clinical pharmacy services program with the Heritage Valley Family Medicine Center in Beaver Falls, PA. As an academic partner of the School of Pharmacy, the Family Medicine Center provides an interprofessional learning environment for advanced pharmacy practice students and outcomes research. Her research interests include expanding the interdisciplinary role of the pharmacist in primary care settings through medication reconciliation services and innovative pedagogy.

She is also the faculty coordinator for the American Pharmacists Association (APhA) Certificate Training Program The Pharmacist and Patient-Centered Diabetes Care and is a member of the APhA and the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP). Dr. Stewart is a Board Certified Ambulatory Care Pharmacist.
