Brian Sesack

Mr. Sesack earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from Duquesne University and his Masters in Business Administration from Fordham University, and currently is a Clinical Unit Based Pharmacist at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) Presbyterian-Shadyside, Presbyterian campus. His previous UPMC work experiences include involvement with the creation of the Electronic Health Record, furthering the integration of the Health Information Management operations, the application of General Electric's Change Acceleration Process (CAP) to address resistance to change, and operational benchmarking projects. In addition, Mr. Sesack was instrumental in the development of the corporate Purchasing/Materials Management function, the creation and facilitation of quarterly organizational improvement workshops, and the launching of the UPMC's Quality Improvement initiative.

Prior to his work experience with the UPMC, Mr. Sesack held various positions within the Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Section of Lederle Laboratories, a division of Pfizer. His accomplishments there included: the implementation of an automated and paper-less weighing and checking system for the dispensing of raw materials, participation in an Activity Based Costing project, several Just-In-Time and Cycle Time Reduction manufacturing projects, and the creation of on-the-job technical training.

Mr. Sesack has also has been a Total Quality Management Auditor for the Greater Pittsburgh Chamber of Commerce, has spoken nationally on the subject of Supplier Base Management, has assisted in the creation of GOAL QPC's Coach's Guide to The Memory Jogger II, is a D.D.I. certified instructor, and certified Six Sigma Green Belt. In addition to his work contributions, he is currently an adjunct instructor in the University of Pittsburgh's School of Pharmacy, and as an artist Mr. Sesack has been juried into the Associated Artists of Pittsburgh, the Pittsburgh Society of Artists, and has received funding from the Pennsylvania Council of the Arts.
