Biography
Dr. Daniel B. Oerther is a Professor of Nursing by Courtesy. He supports projects and scholarship in Duquesne’s joint nursing and engineering program – the first joint degree program in the United States leading to both a Bachelor of Science in Nursing plus a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering (BSN/BSBME).
Dr. Oerther is a tenured Professor of Environmental Health Engineering at the Missouri University of Science and Technology, and he currently serves as the Executive Director of the American Academy of Environmental Engineers and Scientists. Recognized as a highly cited scholar by both the annual and the career categories of the Stanford-Elsevier annual top 2% most highly cited ranking, Dan is the most prolific author in the SCOPUS topic of, “integrating health and environmental sustainability”.
Dr. Oerther is double Board Certified in Environmental Engineering (BCEE) as well as Environmental Science (BCES). He is recognized as a Chartered Engineer (CEng) and a Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv) in the United Kingdom, and Dan is Diplomate Laureate of the American Academy of Sanitarians (DLAAS).
Dr. Oerther holds elected Fellowship in the National Academies of Practice (FNAP), Association of Environmental Engineering and Science Professors (FAEESP), Society of Operations Engineers (FSOE), Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (FCIEH), and the Royal Society for Public Health (FRSPH).
