Biography
David Nolfi leads the Gumberg Library’s efforts to support students and faculty in the health sciences, natural sciences, and engineering as well as the library’s special services for researchers. Prior to joining the Gumberg library faculty, he worked at the Washington Health System medical library and CME department, University of Pittsburgh Health Sciences Library System, and Carnegie Mellon University Libraries.
He has been active in campus governance and committee work. He currently serves as a nonscientist member of Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee, and previously served as chair of the faculty grievance committee, co-chair of the campus learning outcomes assessment committee, and a member of the Institutional Review Board. In recognition of his support for Duquesne faculty, he received the Spirit of CTE Award.
He has been a member of the Medical Library Association since 1995, and is a Distinguished member of its Academy of Health Information Professionals. He has served MLA in many roles, including Co-Chair of the National Program Committee, Chair of the Mid-Atlantic Chapter, and Chair of the Nursing and Allied Health Resources Caucus. He has been recognized for his work within medical librarianship winning the NAHRS Award for Professional Excellence and the MAC Marguerite Abel Service Award.
