Biography
Elizabeth McCadden serves as Associate Director of Career Services and Alumni Relations at the Thomas R. Kline School of Law of Duquesne University, where she works to connect students with meaningful legal opportunities and alumni to build lasting relationships between the law school and the broader legal community.
In her role, Liz advises and coaches students on professional development strategy, job search techniques, and networking best practices across a wide range of practice areas and career paths. She also plays an active role in employer outreach efforts, cultivating relationships with law firms, corporations, nonprofits, judges, and public sector organizations to expand recruiting pipelines for Duquesne Kline School of Law students. Liz works to bring students into direct contact with practicing attorneys to help bridge the gap between classroom and career and expose law students to different practice areas.
Liz brings firsthand legal and professional experience to her advising work. Before joining Duquesne Kline School of Law, she spent more than a decade in the workers' compensation field, first as an adjuster, then as a paralegal and office manager, and ultimately as a practicing attorney. She was a frequent lecturer on workers' compensation topics, including EDI and Medicare Secondary Payer compliance.
Liz earned her J.D. from Duquesne Kline School of Law in 2021, as a part of the evening division while working full-time. She received CALI Excellence for the Future Awards in Employment Law, Secured Transactions, and Sales. Her published paper on workers' compensation medical management was recognized with second place in the College of Workers' Compensation Lawyers Law Student Writing Competition.
Because she has navigated both the professional world and law school simultaneously, Liz brings a practical, empathetic perspective to career advising. She is licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania and West Virginia and holds a B.S. in Physics from Dickinson College.
