Biography

Dr. Garmong graduated with his PharmD from the LECOM School of Pharmacy at Erie in 2014 and completed a community practice residency with the University of Pittsburgh and Rite Aid Pharmacy from 2014-15. During his residency, in addition to his community pharmacy patient care and management experiences, he was a member of interprofessional teams at a family health center and a free clinic. Dr. Garmong has experience practicing in traditional dispensing roles, as well as with providing MTM, transitions-of-care, immunization, and medication synchronization services, in traditional- and independent-chain community pharmacies. He is a trained pharmacist provider within the Pennsylvania Pharmacists Care Network (PPCN) and is a coach for the national "Flip the Pharmacy" program, which aims to guide pharmacies through practice transformation to move "beyond filling prescriptions at a moment in time, to caring for patients over time".

Dr. Garmong's scholarly interests include interprofessional collaboration and implementation of enhanced services within community pharmacy. He is passionate about educating and mentoring student pharmacists by creating experiences that help them envision and grow professionally toward their future as collaborative, value-driven practitioners, servant-leaders, and advocates.
