Biography
Janice Devine serves as the Assistant Dean for Advancement at the Thomas R. Kline School of Law of Duquesne University where she is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive fundraising plan for the School to include alumni engagement, annual giving, leadership annual giving, major giving, planned giving and donor stewardship.
Serving as the chief development officer for the Kline School of Law of Duquesne University, Janice provides counsel to the Dean and faculty of the School on advancement matters, helps to set philanthropic strategies and organizes and sets the School's philanthropic priorities in order to maximize external support.
Prior to her arrival at Duquesne, Janice served as the Vice President of Development at Magee-Womens Research Institute & Foundation (MWRIF) and oversaw all philanthropic efforts on behalf of Magee-Womens Research Institute and UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital. In collaboration with organizational leadership and the Board of Directors, Janice handled the implementation of strategy involving annual giving, grateful patient programs, major gifts, planned giving, local and national foundations and corporations, special events, and other projects.
Janice is a seasoned development professional with a proven record of fostering organizational growth and effectively building and cultivating positive and productive relationships with all constituents. She has honed her planning, communications, critical thinking, and management skills after working nearly thirty years in high-level executive support positions with extensive fundraising and alumni relations experience.
Janice also served as Director of Alumni Relations and Development at the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Law and School of Nursing, where she led the fundraising and alumni engagement strategies locally and nationally. During her tenure at the School of Nursing, fundraising levels increased more than fivefold, and the school concluded the University’s capital campaign at 120% of its target goal.
