As Senior Vice President for Enrollment Management, Joel brings more than 30 years of experience as a leader in admissions and financial aid. He most recently served for nine years as the Vice President for Enrollment Management at Stetson University, where he led the offices of undergraduate and graduate admissions and international admissions, and the offices of financial aid and continuing education and outreach. Prior roles also include Vice President for Enrollment at Westminster College in Salt Lake City, Utah, and Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid at New College of Florida in Sarasota.
A recognized expert in the enrollment field, Joel presents regularly at national conferences and has been quoted in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Salt Lake City Tribune, University Business, and local papers in Sarasota and Daytona Beach. Currently serving on the editorial board of NAFSA: International Enrollment Management Spotlight publication, Bauman served as the 2011-2012 chair of the Enrollment Management Affinity group for the New American Colleges and Universities Consortium and as a Board member of the Admissions and Enrollment Services Advisory Group of the College Board from 2013-2015.
Bauman earned his undergraduate degree in anthropology and biology from the University of Denver. After completing his master's degree in Anthropology at the New School for Social Research in New York, he pursued anthropological research as a Lady Davis Scholar and National Foundation for Jewish Culture fellow at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and the Haifa University, respectively. An active volunteer, Bauman has served in the community as Vice President of Strategy and Board member at the Jewish Federations of Utah and Flagler and Volusia counties.
Bauman is a father to three daughters.
