Biography

Dr. Kate DeLuca is the Associate Dean for Student and Alumni Affairs at the Duquesne University School of Nursing. After completing dual undergraduate degrees at Duquesne University, she went on to complete her MBA, and earned her EdD in the Higher Education Management program at the University of Pittsburgh.

In 2004, Dr. DeLuca joined the Duquesne University School of Nursing and has served in various capacities since then including the Graduate Academic Advisor and grant manager for some of the school's federal grants. She has also been successful in the development and implementation of several new initiatives to enhance the student experience including the annual White Coat and Pinning ceremonies, academic support workshops, early warning alerts through Starfish, and resume reviews and mock interviews with the Center for Career Development. 

Dr. DeLuca serves as a Deputy Title IX and Sexual Misconduct Prevention and Response Coordinator for the University and on various committees in the School of Nursing and around campus.  In 2019, she received the Duke of Diversity award and in 2020 she received the Duquesne University NAACP Image Award for the university for her work and commitment to diversity & inclusion on the Duquesne campus. 

Since 2014, Dr. DeLuca has obtained over 1.8 million dollars in grant funding through the HRSA Nurse Faculty Loan Program to assist doctoral students who plan to pursue a career as a nurse faculty member to finance their degree.
