Biography

Kenneth Kilbert is a Professor Emeritus at the University of Toledo College of Law, where he was a full-time member of the faculty from 2006 until he retired in 2022.  He taught Administrative Law, Civil Procedure, Conflict of Laws, Environmental Law, Natural Resources Law, and Water Law.

He also was Director of the Legal Institute of the Great Lakes, a research center within the College of Law, and frequently spoke and wrote on environmental law issues.  Professor Kilbert served as Associate Dean for Academic Affairs from 2012 to 2015. His honors include being voted the Outstanding Professor by the graduating class of 2022.

Prior to joining the Toledo faculty, Professor Kilbert was in private practice in Pittsburgh for more than 20 years, focusing primarily on environmental litigation.  He is a former chair of the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Civil Litigation Section.  He also taught as an adjunct professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law for several years.

Professor Kilbert is a graduate of Bethany College (B.A., summa cum laude) and the University of Pittsburgh School of Law (J.D., magna cum laude), where he was Executive Editor of the Law Review.

At Duquesne, Professor Kilbert teaches Administrative Law.
