Biography

Kristen Coopie earned her B.A. in Political Science from Bethany College in Bethany, WV. She went on to earn her Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh in 2013. Her research and teaching interests include American governmental institutions, interest groups, media and politics, constitutional law, and campaigns and elections.

Kristen joined the faculty at Duquesne University as a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Fall of 2017. Previously, she was an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. She has also taught courses on presidential campaigns and politics at Carnegie Mellon University, and courses on public policy and American Government at the University of Pittsburgh.
