Biography
Dr. Rebecca Vrescak initially joined Duquesne University's School of Nursing, serving as adjunct faculty in the role of faculty mentor and clinical site preceptor for nurse anesthesia doctoral projects. She is an alumnus of Carlow University, receiving her BSN in 1986. Her fifteen-year clinical nursing practice includes the Operating Room Cardiac Team, Cardiothoracic ICU, and Electrophysiology, as well as Phase III Clinical Trials in Cardiac and Anesthesia research within the Allegheny Health System. Dr. Vrescak decided to pursue a career in nurse anesthesia and graduated from the LaRoche University/Allegheny Valley School of Anesthesia in 2003. She earned her Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice degree from St. Vincent College in 2018.
Dr. Vrescak has had the opportunity to practice in various anesthesia settings and models across multiple states as a CRNA throughout her career. With six years of prior experience as Assistant Nurse Anesthesia Program Director, her goal is to share her educational and clinical expertise with her students while continuing to maintain her clinical practice.
Dr. Vrescak is a member of the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiologists, the Pennsylvania Association of Nurse Anesthetists, the Society of Obstetric Anesthesia and Perinatology, the Society for Simulation in Healthcare.
Dr. Vrescak assumed the role of the Clinical Assistant Professor and Assistant Director of the Nurse Anesthesia Program in January 2025.
