Biography
Dr. Stacey Adzima is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the School of Nursing at Duquesne University. She received her diploma in nursing from St. Margaret School of Nursing. After graduation, she began her nursing career on a medical-surgical unit, caring for post-operative patients. She later transitioned into leadership roles at St. Margaret Hospital before pursuing her passion for nursing education.
Prior to joining Duquesne University, she served as nurse faculty at UPMC Shadyside School of Nursing, where she taught foundation-level nursing students. Throughout her career, she has remained committed to helping students build the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to provide safe, compassionate, and evidence-based patient care.
Duquesne holds a special place in her heart. Her mother, who passed away from Alzheimer's disease in December 2025, earned her Master's degree in Education from Duquesne University in the early 1990s. Her mother's dedication to education and lifelong learning continues to inspire Dr. Adzima, making her opportunity to teach at Duquesne especially meaningful.
