Valerie Gresser

Dr. Valerie Gresser is an Assistant Professor in Reading and Literacy. As a member of the Department of Instruction and Leadership in Education (DILE) in Duquesne's School of Education, Dr. Gresser teaches undergraduate reading courses in the Leading Teacher program as well as graduate level courses for the M.S. Reading and Language Arts Program. Prior to joining the DILE faculty, she worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Florida. A former National Board-Certified teacher, she has 18 years of teaching, coaching, and mentoring experience in various grades at the elementary level. Her research interests include language and literacy education, functional linguistics, and teacher education.
