Faculty of the Mary Pappert School of Music offer several learning opportunities to students during the summer. Check out their diverse offerings.
 
Thursday, June 19, 11:00 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Union Africa Room: Celebrating Juneteenth 2025 featuring Dr. Anthony B. Mitchell, Sr., Professor Emeritus of Africana/Black Studies at Penn State University Duquesne University's Juneteenth 2025 Celebration will feature guest speaker Dr. Anthony B. Mitchell, Sr., who will present on the topic “The Juneteenth ‘Freedom Day’: Remembering the Realities and Triumphs of Freedom." In addition to the featured speaker, enjoy a spoken word performance, dine on delicious soul food, explore books about Juneteenth and more!

Through Friday, July 25: Summer Undergraduate Research Program The 2025 Undergraduate Research Program (URP) is a 10-week summer program. Participants have the opportunity to conduct research in fields such as chemistry, biology, pain research, and neurodegeneration while exploring diverse science-related disciplines and career paths. 
 
Monday, July 21-Friday, July 25, 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.: Stages II Summer Camp Join us on campus this summer for a grant-funded summer camp, specifically for youth with disabilities. It’s open to youth in 7th to 12th grade with a documented disability. The performance will take place on Friday, July 25th.
