Two nursing school faculty have been recognized for their outstanding contributions and their role in advancing the profession. 

Dr. Melanie Turk, associate professor and chair of advanced role and graduate nursing programs, and Dr. Rick Zoucha, professor and chair of advanced role and community health nursing, recently received prestigious Cameos of Caring Awards, presented by the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing.

Turk was honored in the Research & Scholarship Award category. Known for her research-driven approach and commitment to evidence-based practice, Turk’s work creates dynamic learning environments where future nurses are prepared to meet the challenges of modern health care.

Zoucha was celebrated in the Nurse Educator Award. He is a national leader in transcultural nursing and community health. Zoucha’s dedication to cultural competence and mentorship empowers students to serve diverse populations with compassion and skill.

The Cameos of Caring Awards honor nurses and nurse educators who demonstrate excellence in leadership, advocacy and mentorship. Recipients are celebrated for their unwavering dedication to improving health care outcomes and shaping the next generation of nursing professionals.
