As search evolves beyond traditional Google rankings into AI-driven discovery, the University is adapting its strategies to remain visible, trusted and relevant to prospective students and families, alumni and target audiences.
Web editors from schools and departments across campus gathered May 20 for the spring webathon to strategically refresh key content across Duquesne’s website. Participants focused on making enhancements that support the University’s visibility in emerging AI-powered search environments, laying a strong foundation for continued success in an evolving digital landscape.
The biannual webathon is a collaborative half-day workshop hosted on campus in partnership with the Provost’s Office and the Division of Marketing and Communications. Duquesne’s website is a primary engine for marketing, recruitment and critical business functions, making these coordinated updates especially impactful in helping to achieve the University’s goals.
This event marked the seventh webathon gathering for the campus-wide web community, which continues to make meaningful progress toward the University’s marketing, recruiting and enrollment goals. Previous webathons have focused on updating in-the-moment imagery to better reflect the student experience; elevating stories that highlight student success and alumni outcomes; and optimizing priority webpages for user experience, search performance and best practices.
