Duquesne’s 11th annual Day of Giving proved once again what makes the University community so special. Alumni, faculty, staff, parents and friends united to set a new record on Feb. 11, raising an incredible $886,129 in support of students and the programs that help them thrive.
“I was truly inspired by the generosity shown across our Duquesne University community,” said Mike LaFrankie, senior vice president for university advancement, who experienced his first Day of Giving since joining the University in August 2025. “Thank you for helping us create opportunity where it begins for our students.”
The Day of Giving encourages gifts to the schools, teams, programs, organizations and scholarships that mean the most to supporters. Donations of all sizes fueled opportunities that will help students learn together, pursue bigger goals and experience the horizon-expanding education that defines Duquesne.
Challenges added extra energy throughout the day, giving donors meaningful ways to amplify impact. Contributions unlocked much-needed challenge dollars and boosted favorite areas of campus, with many Schools, teams and programs offering matching funds to stretch every gift.
“Our donors appreciate the chance to support what they love most,” said Hillary Moore, director of annual giving. “Whether that passion centers on a school, a team, a program or a scholarship, each gift strengthens the student experience and keeps a Duquesne education preparing students for anything.”
The Duquesne Day of Giving has raised nearly $5 million since its start. This sustained momentum reflects a community deeply committed to expanding what is possible for current and future Dukes.
