With Duquesne University’s presidential transition approaching, faculty and staff are reminded of an important update regarding email communications with the Office of the President, the Provost and the Chancellor.

Starting Wednesday, July 1, Dr. David Dausey will assume the role of Duquesne's 14th president and Ken Gormley will move into the position of chancellor. On that date, email routing will be updated to ensure messages are directed appropriately.

Additionally, the Office of the Provost also is transitioning on July 1, with Dr. Sarah Ewing assuming the role of provost and vice president for academic affairs.

What you need to know on and after July 1, 2026:

  • Messages intended for President Dausey should be sent to presidentFREEDUQUESNE.
  • Messages intended for Provost Ewing should be sent to provostFREEDUQUESNE.
  • Messages intended for Chancellor Gormley should be sent to chancellorFREEDUQUESNE.
  • The President’s and provost’s offices will use automatic replies for 60 days following the change, tailored to internal or external senders, to acknowledge receipt and clarify the new contact information for the University’s leadership.
    • If a message is sent to the President’s account but is intended for the Chancellor, the automatic reply will direct senders to the correct address. Similar measures will be in place for emails meant for the Provost that are sent to the President.
  • Executive assistants will monitor the email accounts to ensure proper delivery in the event that automatic measures miss anything.

With these moves, the University hopes to ensure that correspondence reaches the appropriate office quickly and that constituents are aware of the change.

Thank you for your collaboration in supporting effective communication across the University.
