In front of a packed audience at the UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse in August, Duquesne broke ground on its new Health Sciences Facility, a significant milestone that further establishes the University’s growing health care corridor along Forbes Avenue.
The approximately 82,000-square-foot, five-story building will become home to the John G. Rangos, Sr. School of Health Sciences, bringing together programs currently housed in multiple locations into a single environment designed to foster collaboration, innovation and hands-on learning.
The groundbreaking follows the opening of the Nasuti College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2024, which is located across the street from the new health sciences building site.
In its first 35 years, the Rangos School has experienced significant growth as it added programs and gained national recognition for its programs in in physical therapy, occupational therapy, athletic training, physician assistant studies, speech-language pathology, public health and health administration.
