It’s time to take a fresh look at your benefits—Open Enrollment for the 2026–2027 plan year will run Monday, April 20, through Friday, May 1, 2026.
The annual Duquesne Faculty & Staff Benefits Fair is slated for Tuesday, April 21, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Africa Room (third floor) and the Atrium (second floor) of the Student Union. Explore available options, connect with on-campus providers and industry experts, enjoy refreshments and enter drawings for prizes.
Importance of Reviewing Benefits
Even without planned changes, reviewing current elections ensures coverage remains
appropriate. Life circumstances and health care needs evolve, and a brief review helps
maintain the right coverage.
Important reminder: If no action is taken, most current elections will roll over—except Flexible Spending Accounts, which must be re-elected each year.
Updates to the 2026-2027 Duquesne Benefits
While many core benefits remain the same, there are a few important updates to keep
in mind:
- Spousal Surcharge: No change; remains $128.68 per bi-weekly pay
- Medical & Prescription Plans: Plan designs remain the same; updated pricing applies to
- Highmark and UPMC plan options
- Dental Plans: Updated premium pricing for both basic and enhanced plans
- Vision Plans: VSP vision plan pricing remains unchanged
- Health Savings Accounts (HSA): Annual limits increased to $4,400 (individual) and $8,750 (family)
- Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs):
- Annual limits increased: Health Care FSA to $3,400; Dependent Care FSA to $7,500 (with continued $500 Duquesne University contribution)
- Important reminder: FSA elections must be actively re-elected each year—they do not automatically carry over and unused funds may be forfeited.
