Duquesne is preparing for what could be another record turnout at Homecoming & Family Weekend 2026.
Set for Friday, Oct. 9, and Saturday, Oct.10, this year’s All Roads Lead to the Bluff theme will bring alumni, students, families and friends for a weekend celebration.
“There truly is something for everyone this year,” said Mary Young, executive director for alumni engagement. “My hope is that attendees feel the pride and spirit of Duquesne from the moment they arrive.”
The weekend kicks off Friday with the Homecoming Block Party on Academic Walk. Free and open to the University community, the come-one, come-all celebration will feature live entertainment, food trucks, a cash bar, family-friendly activities and a community paint-by-numbers mural.
The evening will culminate with the first-ever drone show over the Bluff. Presented by Pyrotecnico—owned by alumnus Stephen Vitale, B’88—the show will celebrate the excellence of Duquesne’s 10 schools and continue the inauguration festivities for President David Dausey.
“In the midst of this fall’s inauguration festivities and welcoming a new president and new era for Duquesne, Homecoming & Family Weekend is the perfect opportunity to celebrate the entire University community—past, present and future—and the memories, relationships and experiences that make the Bluff so special,” Young said.
School-based gatherings also return on Saturday, giving alumni more opportunities to reconnect with the academic communities that shaped their Duquesne experiences. Events include the Rangos School of Health Sciences Alumni Breakfast and the School of Nursing Alumni Brunch, among others.
In addition, A-Walk and surrounding areas will come alive with reunion tailgates, the Alumni & Families Tailgate Lunch, Autumnfest, the Family Fun Zone, Rally to Rooney parade and more before the Dukes take on Long Island University at Rooney Field.
For the first time, Siblings Weekend activities will be integrated into Homecoming & Family Weekend. Younger family members—and potential future Dukes—will have more opportunities to experience campus life and build their own connection to Duquesne.
