Preceptors / Clinical Instructors

A clinical preceptor / clinical instructor is a seasoned and experienced healthcare professional who mentors, guides, and instructs students or novice healthcare practitioners in a clinical setting. They serve as role models, offering practical, hands-on training, sharing their expertise, and supervising learners as they acquire and apply clinical skills, knowledge, and professional competencies. They provide personalized instruction, feedback, and support to help students or new professionals develop the necessary clinical skills, critical thinking abilities, and confidence required in their specific field of healthcare practice.

Students in the School of Health Sciences need these valuable experiences in all of our majors:

  • Athletic Training
  • Health Administration
  • Health Sciences
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Physical Therapy
  • Physician Assistant Studies
  • Public Health
  • Speech-Language Pathology

My clinical experiences have been pivotal in my education. It's where I've learned the real-world applications of my studies and gained invaluable mentorship. This hands-on learning has shaped me not just academically, but personally, preparing me for the challenges of my future career.
