Meet Crosby!

Crosby is a six-year-old, 92-pound English Cream Golden Retriever who never fails to bring joy and smiles to everyone he meets. Born on September 14, 2020, Crosby comes from proud international roots—his dad, Guinness, from Ireland and his mother from Scotland. On campus, Crosby is a familiar face at Duquesne University, especially during exam weeks when students need him most. Outside the classroom, he loves visiting assisted-living facilities, VA centers, Fire stations, and community events, spreading comfort wherever he goes. In 2024, Crosby earned his Canine Good Citizen title and later became a certified therapy dog—roles he takes seriously but always with a wagging tail. When he’s not working, Crosby is all about fun: he can’t resist a good game of tug-of-war (often with stolen socks!), daily walks, and hanging out with his handler, Assistant Professor David Kleba. His favorite snack? Bananas! His favorite companions? Humans and other golden retrievers, of course. Crosby is more than a therapy dog—he’s a friend, a stress reliever, and the best kind of companion on four paws.
