Biography

Dr. Greg Kingston joined Duquesne University in 2025 after six years at Thiel College, where he oversaw the establishment of the Exercise Science major in 2019 and served as the program coordinator. He brings 19 years of experience across multiple areas of fitness, rehabilitation, injury prevention, and sport performance. His professional background includes working with a wide range of populations, from older adults managing chronic conditions to high-performing collegiate and professional athletes.

Throughout his time in higher education, Dr. Kingston has taught a range of courses, including Exercise Testing and Prescription, Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, and Strength and Conditioning. His teaching philosophy centers on bridging theory and practice by integrating real-world experience into the classroom. He encourages active, hands-on learning and fosters collaboration across disciplines to help students build the skills and professional mindset needed for success in a variety of careers in health, fitness, rehabilitation, and human performance.

Dr. Kingston holds several professional certifications, including Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, FMS Level 1, the ACSM Exercise is Medicine Credential, and Corrective Exercise Specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine.
