Dr. Kristine Blair has been reappointed to another term as dean of the McAnulty College and Graduate School of Liberal Arts by Duquesne University President Ken Gormley.
Blair, who has served as dean of College and Graduate School of Liberal Arts since July 2019, has worked with her team to develop and implement several new units, including the Department of Catholic Studies, the Center for Emerging and Innovative Media, the Union Broadcast Center, the Center for Migration, Displacement and Community Studies, and the Center for Hispanic Studies.
The College also has undergone a large-scale revision of curricular distribution for all Bachelor of Arts students and the development of a College identity that foregrounds diversity and social justice, community engagement and globalization, and the essential skills and dispositions for career readiness across fields.
“I am immensely honored to have been reappointed as dean in order to advocate for the importance of the liberal arts in the 21st century,” Blair said. “I welcome the continued opportunity to foster student and faculty success in the McAnulty College and to sustain our collective commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, academic excellence and career readiness of our graduates, and community and global engagement.”
