The ninth annual Integrity of Creation Conference (IoC) at Duquesne will delve into the challenges of meeting the 2030 deadline of the United Nation's Sustainable Development Goals.
His Eminence Cardinal Christophe Pierre, Apostolic Nuncio to the United States of America, will present the opening plenary address of the IoC, which this year focuses on the theme Pathways to Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
Scheduled for Tuesday, March 26, and Wednesday, March 27, in the Power Center, this interdisciplinary conference draws participants from different areas of study to engage in civil discourse on a different topic each year.
“The Integrity of Creation Conference is very honored to welcome Cardinal Pierre,” said the Rev. Bede Ukwuije, C.S.Sp., vice chair and professor of theology in the McAnulty College and Graduate School of Liberal Arts. “As the apostolic nuncio to the United States of America, the cardinal represents Pope Francis. The Cardinal is very familiar with and can speak authoritatively about the environmental teaching of the Pope.”
Pierre’s address as well as the closing address by the Rev. Karchi Adindu, C.S.Sp., will be available to watch via livestream.
