Duquesne’s recent Employee Health & Wellness Resource Fair brought faculty and staff together for a day focused on health, wellness and resources available to support a healthier lifestyle.
Nearly 100 employees participated in biometric screenings during the Sept. 1 event, and many others engaged with Duquesne’s internal and external wellness partners to learn about the resources available throughout the year. The strong turnout and positive feedback reflected employees’ commitment to prioritizing wellness and appreciation for opportunities to learn more about their health.
Know the Numbers. Take the Next Step.
Biometric screenings offer valuable insights into key health indicators and may identify areas that may benefit from additional attention. Employees who participated in the screenings are encouraged to review their results and discuss any questions or concerns with their health care provider.
For those unable to attend the Health & Wellness Resource Fair, biometric screenings may still be available through the Center for Pharmacy Care's Patient Portal.
Make the MOVES
One easy way to build on what was learned at the Fair is through the MOVES Bingo Card, which features wellness activities designed to encourage movement and healthy habits throughout the day. Complete activities, mark them off and submit your completed card by Friday, Oct. 30, for an opportunity to participate in a prize raffle on Tuesday, Nov. 3.
Get your MOVES card at the Office of Human Resources located on the first floor of the Koren Building or by contacting their department’s Director of Business Administration.
Earn Rewards through Wellness in Motion
The MOVES challenge is a part of Duquesne’s Wellness in Motion program, which encourages employees and eligible spouses enrolled in a University medical plan to participate in activities that support healthy habits and overall well-being.
Participants can earn up to $300 in Wellness in Motion dollars per plan year by completing qualifying activities like health assessments, wellness challenges and biometric screenings. Resources are available through Highmark MyHighmark for Highmark members and UPMC’s Take a Healthy Step for UPMC Health Plan members.
Additional information about Wellness in Motion, eligibility and available activities is available online.
