The Women's Guild of Duquesne University was founded in 1928 with the blessing of the University Chancellor, Bishop Boyle, to work with the Dean of Women in sponsoring activities. In the 1940's, the group joined with other alumni groups to help promote the Student Loan Fund. Their efforts led to an annual Pink Geranium Card Party. Proceeds went to the development of the University. The group also began honoring the mothers of the freshman students each Fall by hosting a tea.

These traditions continue today as women from all walks of life and associations with Duquesne University join together and continue to sponsor activities that benefit Duquesne University and our students. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation today.

The Duquesne University Women’s Guild Activity Director partnered with New York Life Insurance Company to sponsor a clothing drive throughout August in support of Duquesne University students.

“The response from our colleagues and Women’s Guild members was incredible. We are fortunate to be part of such a generous and supportive culture,” said Maureen Poisker.

Many students lack access to business-casual or professional attire, yet appropriate clothing can significantly enhance confidence and make a positive impression during job interviews, internships, and networking events. Through Duquesne University’s Career Closet, students can access a wide selection of professional clothing in various sizes and styles for individuals of all genders, helping them prepare for career-related opportunities with confidence.
