As of Monday, July 6, 2020, the Office of Human Resources will be resuming some in-person services to the university community. The primary in-person service will allow for distribution and collection of tax and employment forms for new hires. Additional in-person services may be arranged by contacting members of our team directly.
All services will be conducted by appointment only, and individuals may not walk in without a previously scheduled appointment. To request an appointment or speak to a Human Resources staff member, please email email@example.com or call 412-396-6575, prompt #7.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP) now offers a new, online portal
Financial worries, aging parents, job stress, and health issues - everyone faces challenges from time to time. The Duquesne University EAP benefit, sponsored through LytleEAP, offers confidential, free solutions to assist you and your family members with these challenges. We are excited to announce the addition of their new "My Life Expert" portal to provide mobile app-based access to additional work and life resources including Chat Functionality, Video Counseling and more. Changes to FLSA
The Department of Labor issued a final rule changing the salary threshold for employees to be considered "Exempt" (not entitled to overtime) under the federal Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Effective January 1, 2020, the new salary threshold is $684 per week or $35,568 annually.

CUPA-HR Selects Duquesne for 2019 Eastern Region HR Excellence Award
The College and University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA-HR) Eastern Region board of directors has selected Duquesne's Minority Professional Development Leadership Program to receive the 2019 Eastern Region HR Excellence Award.
The award honors transformative human resources work in higher education, recognizing individuals or teams who have provided human resources leadership resulting in significant and ongoing organizational change within their institutions.
"We're honored to receive this prestigious award and grateful for the opportunity to showcase Duquesne University's efforts to build a diverse and inclusive workforce," said Ryan Dawson, senior director and deputy Title IX coordinator for the Office of Human Resources.
In addition, Duquesne's Minority Professional Development Leadership Program will be submitted to the CUPA-HR national awards committee for consideration for the national HR Excellence Award.
"We're especially thankful to Marla Bradford, senior recruiter diversity leader in the Office of Human Resources, for nominating the Minority Professional Development Leadership Program and her continued efforts to enhance the program," Dawson said.
Duquesne and other Eastern Region awards recipients will be honored at the CUPA-HR Spring Conference, which will be held from Thursday, March 28, to Saturday, March 30 in Washington, D.C.
Fidelity and TIAA Host Employee Investment and Retirement Meetings
Retirement plan consultants from Fidelity Investments and TIAA are available for one-on-one meetings. Spouses are also invited to attend these sessions.
