The Duquesne University ESL Program is accredited by the Commission on English Language Program Accreditation (CEA) for the period December 2018 - 2027 and agrees to uphold the CEA Standards for English Language Programs and Institutions. The School of Education at Duquesne University is nationally accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) and offers a wide selection of CAEP-reviewed educator preparation programs. Additionally, all educator preparation programs are recognized and approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE). The M.S.Ed. in Reading and Literacy Education program is also accredited by the International Dyslexia Association (IDA). The School of Education’s M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, M.S. in Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling, M.S.Ed. in School Counseling, and Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision programs are accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP), and its School Psychology Ph.D. and Psy.D. programs are accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA).

Duquesne University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine has received pre-accreditation status from the Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA). This status means the University can recruit and admit students to the medical college and is approved to teach the curriculum for the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
