Biography
Mrs. Staltari is a Clinical Assistant Professor, serving as the Clinical Education
Coordinator, in the Department of Speech-Language Pathology. She has been a practicing
speech-language pathologist for over 35 years and with the university for over 25
years. Her areas of specialty include communication and cognitive disorders that result
from neurological impairment in the adult population. Additionally, best practices
in clinical instruction and supervision is an area of interest. Mrs. Staltari is the
instructor for a variety of courses within the Speech-Language Pathology Department
including Introduction to Communication Disorders, Clinical Procedures and Observation
in Speech-Language Pathology which serve as foundational courses for graduate level
instruction. Additionally, Mrs. Staltari provides clinical instruction of Graduate
Student Clinicians in the professional phase for the adult neurogenic population at
the Duquesne University Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic. Professional phase course
include Special Topics in Speech-Language Pathology Seminar, and Business Practices
in Speech-Language Pathology which provides knowledge and skills when working with
communication disorders across a variety of service delivery settings. Mrs. Staltari
additionally serves as the liaison for professional phase students engaged in clinical
practice within community partner settings.
