Duquesne University School of Pharmacy Transfer Options
The Duquesne University School of Pharmacy welcomes qualified transfer students to the Pharm.D. program through three distinct pathways: pre-professional phase, professional phase and directly into the online Pharm.D. program.
Students interested in transferring for the Fall 2022 semester need to take the PCAT. The PCAT becomes optional for students interested in applying for admission starting in Fall 2023.
The pre-professional and professional transfer options bring transfer students on-campus, joining a current class in the traditional Pharm.D. program. The online transfer option allows students to join the incoming online Pharm.D. program class and combines online and limited campus instruction (approximately four visits per academic year).
"Several pharmacists whom I have spoken with about the career were graduates of Duquesne, so I decided to look further into the pharmacy program," Rochelle Valor, a School of Pharmacy transfer student and member of the Class of 2022, says. "I was very impressed with the reputation of the school itself, the pass rate for boards, as well as the pharmacists and other students that I had met from there. I was very excited to be part of such a distinguished program and about the potential the school presented to become the best healthcare professional that I desire to be. The transition into the Class of 2022 felt very much taken care of. I met so many people that were willing to lend a helping hand whenever I needed it. I was able to join a professional pharmacy sorority that allowed me to meet so many other student pharmacists that would eventually become my best friends. There were so many opportunities, positions, and events to get involved in and I'm grateful that Duquesne has such a welcoming presence in their faculty, staff, organizations, and the various classes of student pharmacists."
