Entering into the Sacrament of Reconciliation

Confession is not difficult. Yet, if we want to experience the sacrament in the most profound way, we must prepare by placing ourselves in the presence of God and praying for the wisdom, insight and humility to reflect honestly on our life.

Catholics seek healing and forgiveness through repentance and a resolve to change those parts of their lives that do not foster relationship with God and God's people. This reflection should involve searching one's thoughts, words and actions - an examination of conscience.

Worship Spaces

Explore the many places to pray on campus

The Spiritan Campus Ministry Center is located on the B side of Towers LLC. All are welcome to do homework or use this space to get together with friends. This space is also used as a space to meet for many faith sharing groups. Contact iaquintakFREEDUQUESNE for more information or to reserve the space.
Campus Ministry respects and seeks faith development for all religions. Located in the Spiritan Campus Ministry Center, Duquesne University offers men's and women's prayer rooms. The Muslim Prayer Rooms are available for use 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in the Spiritan Campus Ministry Center (Towers, 1st Floor).
The Chapel of the Holy Spirit invites all people to worship and celebrate God's all inclusive love for us. The Chapel is open all hours and it is encouraged for students to visit the Chapel for personal and quiet prayer. Duquesne University offers many celebrations of Christ for students, faculty, and staff. For more information visit our Chapel of the Holy Spirit page!
The Lourdes Grotto is located behind the Administration Building, and is a special place to visit. The original Lourdes Grotto is located in France and is special because that is the location where Mary appeared to Bernadette. The Grotto is cherished because prayers and services are believed to bring real blessings to the pilgrim and many have been healed in the springs. Many people take pilgrimages to the Lourdes Grotto each year, and students are welcome to take a pilgrimage down to our Lourdes Grotto on campus.
A newly established space has been created for an opportunity to sit in God's presence without distractions 24 hours of the day. You are always welcome to visit the Spiritan Campus Ministry Center 1st floor Adoration Chapel for extended time or to just stop in for a few minutes.
The Crucifix Garden, located outside of the Rangos School, is an outside Garden and Crucifix that represents our salvation. The Crucifix Garden is oftentimes used for outdoor masses and other events held in Campus Ministry.
