Weekend Loop Bus

SGA Weekend Loop Bus Returns!

We are happy to announce that the SGA Weekend Loop Bus will be returning for the Fall 2022 semester with routes through Oakland, Southside and The Waterfront! It is a FREE service to help transport you to grocery stores, restaurants, and popular areas of the city. You must show your DU student ID card to board the bus.

The Loop Bus runs Friday and Saturday nights from 6pm - 2am starting August 26. The LAST Bus for each loop will leave the Duquesne Stop at 1:30 for its last loop.

In the event of an emergency - Inform the driver, call 911 and Duquesne University Police at 412-396-2677.

The Buses Follow 3 Continuous Loops:

Oakland Loop
• Duquesne Union (Starbucks)
• Forbes Ave & Bouquet St (Barco Law Bldg)
• Forbes Ave & Morewood St (Cyert Hall - CMU)
• Return to Duquesne Union (Starbucks)

South Side Loop
• Duquesne Union (Starbucks)
• East Carson & 15th St. (Mike & Tony's Gyros)
• East Carson & 22nd St. (Boost Mobile)
• Sidney St & S 27th (Cheesecake Factory)
• East Carson & 22nd St.
• East Carson & 15th St. (Gennaro's Pizza)
• Return to Duquesne Union (Starbucks)

Waterfront Loop
• Duquesne Union (Starbucks)
• Friendship Circle (Murray Avenue across from Giant Eagle)
• Murray Ave and Forward (on Murray Ave across from GetGo) 
• Front of the AMC Waterfront 22 Theatre
• Target at the Waterfront
• Return to Duquesne Union (Starbucks)

Who Can Ride

  • You must have a valid Duquesne University ID to ride the South Side Shuttle.
  • Only registered Duquesne University students are permitted to ride the shuttle.
  • You cannot borrow or share an ID with someone else.

Loop Bus and South Side Shuttle Regulations

All Duquesne University policies as listed in the Student Handbook found here https://www.duq.edu/life-at-duquesne/student-services/student-conduct/student-handbook/forms are in effect while being transported to locations around the City of Pittsburgh and surrounding neighborhoods. Additionally, the following expectations are to be followed while riding on either bus. Student ID required

  • No eating or drinking on the bus
  • No firearms or other weapons are permitted regardless of any permits to carry on the bus
  • No smoking or vaping permitted on the bus
  • Be respectful of co-riders
