Catholicism and the Common Good supported two standing research initiatives that convened cohorts of national and emerging scholars in theology and other disciplines to encourage inter-religious and interdisciplinary collaboration and shared inquiry.
The Theology and University Colloquy convened scholars who direct university-based centers or institutes that are tasked with stewarding the intellectual traditions of diverse religious communities. Participants reflected on best practices, identified opportunities for collaboration, and developed scholarly and public resources on theological education and interdisciplinarity.
The Research Fellows Colloquy convened a group of prominent mid-level scholars to conduct research on the project's theme. Members included scholars who work in theology as well as law, the social sciences, history, and philosophy, and whose body of scholarship is manifestly informed by Catholic ideas and ideals.
