Social Justice Education
The Center hosts Social Justice Education seminars that bring together Duquesne faculty and community partners to produce academic and public scholarship and programming around a specific social justice issue, such as poverty, community trauma, racial equality, or restorative justice. The seminars underscore our Catholic, Spiritan approach to community engagement through our commitments to building authentic relationships and to walking with those on the margins.
Several junior research fellows, funded by the Luce grants, were assigned to support these projects. The fellowships were intended as professional development opportunities to support and shape the research agendas of these graduate students in the context of interdisciplinary collaboration.
