Affiliated Faculty
The Center draws upon existing faculty expertise across a wide range of disciplines, in order to create a confluence of scholarship, teaching, and community engagement throughout the university. With a scope of inquiry that moves readily from local communities to global patterns, the Center provides opportunities for faculty and students across the University to act as engaged citizens through scholarship, teaching, and community engagement with local partners.
Faculty associated with the Center conduct fundamental scholarship on the character, causes, and consequences of contemporary migration across and within countries, focusing specifically on the role that migration plays in human development and personal dignity.
The Center and associated faculty provide important resources for students interested in conducting research in the field of migration studies or pursuing a career in the field. The Center provides a focal point for students to more easily identify faculty mentors, particularly those that may be located outside their major or outside their School. Those mentors support student research, including presentation at the Undergraduate and Graduate Research Symposium, conference presentations, and publication of research papers.
