Balancing Teaching and Research: A Conversation for Graduate Students

  • 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM
  • Zoom

Hosted by Tell Lovelace (TA, Chemistry and Biochemistry)

Faculty Panelists: Lyndsie Ferrara (Forensics and Law), Paul Lummis (Chemistry and Biochemistry), Devika Soundara Manickam (Pharmaceutics)

Of all the responsibilities of graduate students, teaching and research are often the most difficult and time-consuming. Finding balance between the two is a struggle all grad students encounter. The key to finding that balance may lie in the experiences of those who have gone before us. In this panel discussion, we have asked professors who remember the difficulty of graduate school and have recently gained experience as mentors and leaders to share insight and strategies for successfully shouldering both teaching and research responsibilities.

This session is open to all graduate students across the University, and is co-sponsored by the Bayer School Association of Graduate Students (BAGS) and the Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE).

Please register online. Registered participants will receive Zoom information a day or two before the event.
