Ontology of a Herpetologist in Tropical America

Speaker: Dr. Maureen Donnelly
Professor, Department of Biological Sciences
Florida International University
College Hall 104

Ontogeny of a Herpetologist tells the story of how a young woman who attended college to study dental hygiene metamorphosed into a vertebrate biologist.  Dr. Donnelly's fieldwork has taken her around the world but this talk focuses on her explorations of biology in the New World tropics.  Dr. Donnelly completed her doctoral research on territoriality in the strawberry poison frog.  Her postdoctoral research focused on exploration of Venezuelan tepuis and feeding in the strawberry poison frog.
