The Business of Difference Making

The Business of Difference Making is more than a tagline for the Palumbo-Donahue School of Business. This tagline was created and intended to be a guiding force for students, faculty, staff and alumni of the School of Business. Our shared mission is to help students become ethical business professionals who have a positive impact on their organizations as well as society. We focus on developing responsible leaders with entrepreneurial mindsets who challenge conventional thinking, seize new opportunities, and make a difference in the business world and beyond.

Our students are at the core of everything we do at the School of Business. That's why undergraduate, graduate and working professionals who want to be successful business leaders choose Duquesne University-they know that being the best in the world means being the best for the world.

Our recent renovations and state-of-the-art facilities are transforming the student experience and positioning us among the best schools in the nation. Our Centers of Excellence support innovative research and applied educational experiences for students as well as promote interaction with local business leaders and entrepreneurs.

The Palumbo-Donahue School of Business is recognized internationally for embracing and promoting sustainable business practices. Our One-Year MBA is ranked No. 1 in the U.S. and No. 7 in the world by Corporate Knights. We are also ranked among the best in the nation by Poets & Quants, Princeton Review, and U.S. News & World Report.

As a premier business school, we offer a distinctive education marked by strong engagement with our alumni and the business community as well as innovative and transformational programs for our students. Our faculty includes outstanding scholars, from some of the finest Ph.D. programs in the country, and executives-in-residence, who have lived our ethical values as senior leaders in top corporations.

Along the way, the School of Business has met the most rigorous standards of excellence for institutions worldwide. These standards define what it means to be the best in business education. In fact, the School has been accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) since 1962; we were the first in the region to earn this elite ranking.

So I invite you to explore the opportunities here at Duquesne, not only through our website, but also by visiting our campus and speaking with our faculty and students. We would be delighted to share more of the story of Duquesne with you.
