This is an exciting major that combines the study of three languages. Students choosing this major should have extensive background in at least one of the languages selected for the degree.

Note: Because of the rigor of our Modern Languages program, you would not have to declare a minor as you would for most of our other programs.

Program Requirements

Students can choose Spanish or French as their primary language in the Modern Languages program. Requirements include: 
  • 24 credits at the 300 or 400-level
  • Must include Conversation/Composition 1 & 2
Students can choose between French, German, Italian, and Spanish as their secondary language in the program. Requirements include:
  • 12 credits at the 300 or 400-level
  • Must include Conversation/Composition 1 & 2
Students can choose between French, German, Italian, and Spanish as their tertiary language in the program. Requirements include:
  • 12 credits at any level
