Scholarship & Award Offerings

Charles A. Loch Memorial Fund

The Charles A. Loch memorial fund, established in 2014 through a generous gift from the Loch family, serves as a prestigious tribute to honor the late Chuck Loch. With an esteemed legacy as a tenured Duquesne University mathematics professor for 42 years and former chair of the Mathematics and Computer Science department, Chuck Loch's impact is commemorated through this fund. Each year, the fund recognizes the top mathematics and computer science graduates, bestowing upon them a significant monetary award.

Women in STEM

Women in STEM at Duquesne University is a dynamic program that champions and empowers women pursuing career paths in the fields of basic and applied sciences, technology, engineering, and mathematics. With a firm commitment to fostering gender equality, WIS@DU provides invaluable support and resources to female students. Through the program, eligible students have the opportunity to access travel awards and scholarships, further enhancing their academic and professional journeys.

WIS@DU

Through the generous support of the Clare Boothe Luce (CBL) Foundation, WIS@DU empowers undergraduate female students majoring in select STEM disciplines, such as Mathematics, Applied Math, Computer Science, and Data Science, by administering scholarships. These CBL scholarships provide financial assistance for tuition, fees, room, and board, supplementing existing scholarships if applicable. Furthermore, with additional backing from the University, CBL scholars can actively participate in the highly regarded Undergraduate Research Program (URP) at Duquesne, which covers program costs, housing, and meals, offering invaluable research experiences. As part of the immersive Duquesne University Women in STEM organization (WIS), CBL scholars also benefit from mentoring, career development opportunities, and engaging in K-12 STEM outreach activities within the community.
