CETR's Annual Summer Writing Retreat 2022

  • 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Steal away to Tree Pittsburgh for a day of dedicated writing time along the Allegheny River in Upper Lawrenceville. This retreat is intended for faculty, community partners, and interested students who want to make progress on a writing project about their community-engaged scholarship or to brainstorm potential written products about their community-engaged teaching or research. We invite you to carve out an experience that is unique to your writing projects.

There will be opportunities to work collaboratively or find a quiet space outside on the porch for free writing. In addition, we will offer brief "come if you wish" opportunities, including an introduction to the history of Tree Pittsburgh, yoga with Amber Lasure, and a talk by Dr. Jim Purdy on "Moving Forward with Your Writing in the COVID Era." Individual consultations will be available with Dr. Purdy and Dr. Jessica Mann.

Breakfast, lunch, and snacks will be provided. Space for this event is limited, so we encourage you to register early.
