Biography

David Buetzow is currently an adjunct faculty member of the Music Education Department at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA where he serves as a supervisor of Instrumental Music student teachers and teaches the marching band component of the Advanced Instrumental Methods course at Duquesne. He recently (2010) retired as an instrumental music teacher in the Bethel Park School District where he taught concert and symphonic bands, orchestra, jazz band, co-produced the all-school musical, and directed the marching band for 35 years. He also served as the district's Music Department Facilitator for 7 years. He is a member of the bandmaster's fraternity, Phi Beta Mu; and is a Hall of Fame member of the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association where he served as District One President.

As a free lance trumpet player, he maintains a large private trumpet lesson studio and performs as part of the Duquesne University Music Education Faculty Brass Quintet. David is currently employed by Hollis and Germann Music where he works as an instrument repair tech and educational representative for the store. He also serves the Belle Vernon Area School District as a Music Department Facilitator.
