Bio

David Jamison is a full-time faculty member at Robert Morris University, teaching courses in Political Science (American Government, Civil Rights and Civil Liberties, and the U.S. Constitution), as well as in Communication (Journalism Law and Ethics). He previously served in a variety of administrative roles at RMU, including eleven years as Provost, six years as a Dean, and a term as Interim President. He received his B.A. Summa Cum Laude from Muskingum College, his M.A. from the University of Michigan, where he was a Rackham Scholar, and his J.D. Cum Laude from the University of Michigan Law School. A former U.S. Foreign Service officer (with postings in Belgium and Italy), he was admitted to the Ohio Bar in 1979, with practice before the Ohio Supreme Court, the Federal District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, and the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. Reported cases include Brooks v American Broadcasting Companies, Inc. 932 F.2d 495 (6th Cir. 1991), and The State, ex rel Beacon Journal Publishing Co. v Akron Metropolitan Housing Authority et al. 42 Ohio St. 3d 1 (1989). Prior to joining Robert Morris, he taught at the University of Akron and the University of Akron Law School. He has taught Torts I and Torts II as an adjunct faculty member at Duquesne Law School since 2011.
