Bio

Matthew Joseph, Ph.D., (formerly Matthew Bundick) is an associate professor in the Department of Counseling, Psychology, and Special Education at Duquesne University. He teaches graduate-level coursework in lifespan development, career development, and research design. He has also taught undergraduate and graduate courses, and previously worked as an academic advisor and career counselor, at the University of Pittsburgh. His current research interests involve the development of purpose in life in emerging adults/college students, the role of purpose in career decision-making, and how counselors and other educators in secondary and higher education can promote the development of identity, prosocial orientation, and meaning in life. Dr. Joseph has published numerous research articles in peer-reviewed journals, and is currently writing a book on the development of purpose.
