Paul J. Gitnik is an adjunct professor and member of the Pennsylvania Board of Finance and Revenue. The Board of Finance and Revenue, BF&R, is an independent administrative tax tribunal responsible for the second and final level of administrative appeal (with minor exceptions) before appealing to court.
Prior to his appointment as a Board Member of the Pennsylvania Board of Finance and Revenue, with an LL.M. in taxation, his areas of concentration included, business, estates and trusts, funeral industry, municipal, natural resources, real estate and tax law.
Gitnik founded and then sold to a private equity firm SOCRATES, INC., which provides outsourcing, technology and consulting claims recovery (e.g., coordination of benefits, subrogation/reimbursement, data mining, duplicate payments and overpayments) to the health payor industry. During Mr. Gitnik's tenure, SOCRATES, INC. was selected as an AHIP Solutions Partner and an A.M. Best Company rated recommended subrogation firm. Mr. Gitnik stewarded the development of SOCRATES, INC.'s proprietary Subrogation Outsourcing Case Review And Tracking Empowerment System® ("SOCRATES®") and the MY SOCRATES® family of proprietary software.
Gitnik founded and then sold ShaleEnergyUSA.com, Inc. with three interconnected websites, www.ShaleEnergyUSA.com, www.ShaleGasUSA.com, http://www.MarcellusUSA.com and www.UticaUSA.com, which provides resources and tools, included the recorded oil-gas leases, royalty percentages, dates, documents, instruments, permits, well data, records, regulations and information about Shale Oil-Gas in the Appalachian Basin - all on its web based applications.
